Behavioral Health
Our behavioral health team works with children, adolescents, parents, schools, health care providers and other agencies involved with behavioral and developmental care. Whatever your concern, our providers will carefully assess your situation, offer thoughtful guidance and encourage positive growth.
Asking for help can be difficult, even scary. Simply recognizing that your child or teen is struggling is a step in the right direction. We’re here to offer the support and encouragement you need to help your child and family flourish.
About Us
Down-to-earth, supportive and collaborative, our behavioral health team provides professional treatment for children and adolescents with a wide range of developmental and behavioral concerns.
As part of our family-based approach, we recognize that each household is unique. We work to help your child identify their own strengths and build on them, with their health and well-being always at the forefront.
Our areas of focus include but are not limited to:
- Behavioral health issues: depression, anxiety, attention deficit disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, grief, oppositional behavior, adjustment to school, divorce, social challenges, illness or other life transitions and coping with trauma
- Skill-building for children in the areas of stress management, emotion regulation skills, social skills and anger management
- Developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders
- Learning disorders and other school-related concerns
- Family issues, such as parenting skills, adjustment to divorce or blended family concerns
- Behavioral health issues that may arise with chronic pediatric health conditions, such as diabetes, epilepsy, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis or cancer
What can I expect?
At the first appointment, our providers often meet with parents alone, so that concerns can be discussed openly. At subsequent appointments, your provider will meet with your child or teen one-on-one to further assess any issues. Once the assessment is complete, parents and provider meet again to discuss options and plan treatment. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the process, please don’t hesitate to ask. We’re here to help.
